Clay brick flat roof oven


I am messing about with designs and put together an oven with clay bricks. The roof is some 50mm angle iron supporting clay bricks to make a flat roof instead of a dome. I was worried that the metal might get too hot and distort and the roof would sag. has anybody ever tried this?

I haven’t seen any designs like that here, but I should also note that almost everyone on these forums is interested in the cast and arch designs by @BrickWood. Many customize the exteriors of their ovens, but they’re pretty much all using the forms sold by BrickWood.

Reading about your proposed idea, I’m wondering what led you to think about a flat roof, which I presume is on the interior. Or am I misunderstanding your question?
