Yikes, I think we used silica sand not the common sand under the fire bricks on the floor of oven…Should I removes the herringbone pattern to change sand? Help me mister wizard…
I think your fine since the sand is just there to level the bricks and provide some isolation between the perlite and the bricks. The only real difference between silica sand and all purpose sand is the amount of “impurities” in the regular sand. I’d be more worried if you use all purpose sand in you high temp mortar mix. But I for sure am not mister wizard
