All-Purpose Sand Under the Hearth Firebrick

I purchased Quikcrete all purpose sand to use under the firebricks for oven floor! It says that it contains “some silica sand”, is this ok to use?

Totally Fine! Fine grain Silica Sand can pose a heath risk from long-term exposure, but you’re only spending 10 minutes on this step (with a mask on). If you are using All Purpose Sand under the hearth firebrick you are fine - that sand is a-okay. In fact, we are changing this step in Directions 2.0 to reflect ANY type of sand is okay under the hearth firebrick.
