What would be recommended to clean soot off the stucco/firebrick?

Easiest way to do it is with a mix of 1 part white vinegar to 7 parts water, along with a scrub brush and a good rinse. If you have more stubborn buildup, which is likely to be creosote, then you’ll need a stronger solution like Acid Magic, but you have to handle that with extreme care and I’d advise you to use the search on this forum to get specific instructions for it.
