Larger Firebrick Slabs?

I found a place that has larger firebrick slabs 3” thick and 24” x 24. What about using larger pieces of slabs for cooking floor? Thoughts?

The plus side is less seams easy for the pizza peel to slide.

The down side. If it by any chance cracks or breaks for whatever reason, depending your opening will it be hard to replace.

Although rare, sometimes a firebrick will crack (hairline). If this happened to a large 2’ x 2’ firebrick, it will be a challenge to replace… whereas a fire brick pops right out and you just drop and new fire brick in it’s place.

I have 12" x 12", and so far so good. I’d take the 24" x 24".
