Stucco on top of Mortar

Hello,

I am finally at the finish line and have applied my first layer of Type S mortar. However, after reading the comments about decorating, I was curious whether I could apply stucco over the mortar coat?

Yes, you absolutely can put stucco on top of mortar. “Stucco” as described in the BrickWood docs is Type S mortar. If what you’re saying is that you did a couple of scratch mortar layers, you can simply do a finish layer of type S and be sure to use a trowel or screed board to smooth it out.
